The first of the "Career in Metro" events launched nationwide by Metro Turkey was held at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University. Organized in collaboration with the Food Processing Department of the Vocational School of Health Services and Metro Turkey, the event addressed the current state of the food sector and future perspectives due to climate change and a growing population.

The event began with opening remarks by Prof. Dr. Ali Cengiz Köseoğlu, Rector of Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University. Emphasizing the importance our university places on academic and sectoral collaborations, the Rector emphasized the importance of career planning for students and direct contact with the sector.
Metro Turkey Experts and Academics Meet with Students
The first presentation at the event was given by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elif Tuğçe Aksun Tümerkan, the event's academic director. Following this, Metro Turkey Quality Assurance Specialist Fatma Çetin shared information on food safety and the current needs of the sector. The program became a productive platform where industry experts and academics shared their knowledge with the students.
Industry and Academia Come Together at Panel
Following the presentations, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nilüfer Vural, Head of the Food Processing Department, addressed the audience alongside Metro Market Human Resources Manager Eda Betül Taşır at a panel discussion. The panel discussed the importance of industry-university collaborations, career opportunities for students, and current developments in the food industry.
Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Akın Aktaş and Prof. Dr. Abdullah Yıldız also attended the event, providing support. The event, which attracted considerable student interest, was considered a significant step in sharing knowledge and raising career awareness.
