Open Door Visit and Promotion for University Students

On February 21, 2025, officials from the Ankara Governorate's Open Door Unit and the Keçiören District Governorate's Open Door Unit provided information to students about the "Open Door Unit" at our University's July 15th Martyrs' Campus. Sociologist Hülya Ceylan, representing the District Governorate, gave a presentation detailing the content and operation of the Open Door Policy.

Ceylan: The Open Door project was created to establish the highest level of communication with citizens, receiving, tracking, and finalizing their requests effectively and quickly. The Open Door project electronically records, tracks, and finalizes citizen requests to governorates. Thanks to the application, citizens can submit requests directly to the Open Door Desks established within the governorate, selecting from 17 topics and 322 subjects. Requests can be submitted through the developed web application and the Open Door Mobile application. Applications can be submitted to Open Door Units in person, through the website, or via mobile app. Applications are recorded in the electronic system and forwarded to the relevant units. Citizens are immediately notified by text message, saying, "We, the Governor's Office, thank you for your application." Requests are finalized within seven business days. Citizens can track every stage of the process online and via their mobile phone using their application number.

Ceylan emphasized that Open Door is a system that strengthens communication between public institutions and citizens, and also provided information about the application processes and tracking methods. Students were informed that they could submit their applications and track the process at www.acikkapi.gov.tr.

Following the presentation, students asked officials any questions they had and learned more about the operation of the Open Door program. They also had the opportunity to convey their requests, particularly regarding transportation, stray animals, and access to clean, free water. The event raised awareness of the Open Door Policy, which aims to facilitate students' access to public services.
