Fire Protection Training from AYBU Civil Defense and Firefighting Program Students

Students from the Civil Defense and Firefighting Program at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University provided comprehensive training on fire protection at the Esenboğa Complex.

The training, held in the A Block Conference Hall, attracted considerable interest from students from various faculties and departments. The program began with Ayşenur Yıldırım from the Sociology Society commemorating the citizens who lost their lives in the Kartalkaya Fire Disaster. Students from the Civil Defense and Firefighting Program shared important information on fire safety with the audience. Tolga Yiğit Arslan explained the basic aspects of fire incidents and extinguishing and cooling techniques. Burak Kurt provided detailed information on precautions to be taken before a fire and highlighted the risks of domestic fires. Halil İbrahim Erdoğan gave an informative presentation on active and passive fire systems. Berkay Arif Tota detailed the use of fire cabinets. İsmail Yılmaz provided a theoretical explanation of the types and methods of using fire extinguishers.

Following the presentations, Firefighting Program Director Yasin Tahir Karaca offered important advice on fire safety and answered participants' questions. Seyda Topal, Çubuk Youth and Sports District Director, stated that they support such events through ÜNİDES and will provide every support to help students achieve their career goals.

Following the training, a fire drill was held in front of the AYBU Esenboğa Campus Student Cafeteria. Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Orçan and participants received hands-on training using fire extinguishers under the supervision of experts. They were also demonstrated methods for responding to kitchen gas cylinder fires.

This training, organized jointly by the Ankara Research, Application and Research Center, the Search, Rescue and First Aid Club, and the Sociology Society, concluded with a commemorative photo.
