AYBU's Law of the Sea Perspective Presented at the United Nations Ocean Conference

Our Faculty of Law Faculty Member Dr. Ceren Cerit DİNDAR represented the maritime law perspective of AYBU at the conference held in Barcelona.
At the 2024 United Nations Decade of Ocean Sciences Conference in Barcelona, hosted by Spain and organised jointly with the UNESCO Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC/UNESCO), ocean-oriented solutions to climate change were discussed. In the panel, Head of the Department of Maritime Law, Dr. Ceren Cerit DİNDAR, Head of the Department of Maritime Law, presented her paper titled "Pioneering Legal Strategies for Decarbonisation of Shipping: A Vital Step for the Ocean We Want". The conference was organised three years after the launch of the UN Decade of Ocean Sciences for Sustainable Development (2021-2030), providing an opportunity for the Ocean Decade community and partners to celebrate and evaluate their achievements and set common priorities for the future.
