Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Faculty of Sport Sciences, Department of Coaching Education

Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, which was established as the 97th State University in Turkey and the 5th State University in Ankara, was opened within the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Faculty of Sports Sciences established in 2020.

Our Coaching Education Department strives to train the coaches of the future by taking its first undergraduate students in the 2021-2022 academic year.

As the Department of Coaching Education, our main goal is to train national and international elite coaches who are innovative, researcher, gained knowledge and experience with applied and theoretical trainings that our country needs, and who follow current developments in sports and their field.

The four-year education includes basic movement training, coaching education and principles, athlete health and first aid, anatomy, kinesiology, coaching ethics, psychomotor development and learning, sports nutrition, sports injuries and rehabilitation, training science, sports psychology, The students will have the opportunity to take field-specific courses such as skill learning in sport, children and sport, talent selection in sport, biomechanics, sport analysis and statistics, performance measurement and evaluation in sport, principles of technical tactics teaching in sport, conditioning training and methods, and measurement and evaluation in sport.

The titles and conditions that can be used by the graduates of the Department of Exercise and Sports Sciences within the Faculty of Sports Sciences are specified by the Presidency of the Council of Higher Education with the relevant letter as follows.

Coaching Department/Program

a) Criteria: Graduating from Physical and Sports Education Schools / Faculties, Sports Sciences and Technology Schools / Faculties, Faculty of Health Sciences, Sports Sciences and / or Coaching departments / programs that provide at least 4 years of undergraduate education.

b)Job Description in Public and Sector: Talent selection, orientation, development, modeling and modeling of individuals of all age groups in a particular sport branch and preparation, management and implementation of training programs with the conditioning of all kinds of sports branches.

c) Public and Sectoral Employment Areas: Universities, Ministry of National Education, General Directorate of Youth and Sports central and provincial organizations, Sports Federations, Sports Clubs, Talent Selection and Development Centers, Athlete Training Centers, Physical Fitness (Fitness) centers and Local Governments.

d)Title in Public and Sector: Coach.

e)Employment: Making the necessary staff allocations in the employment areas specified in article (c)
