The 3+1 Education Model is an innovative approach offered by the Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Vocational School of Technical Sciences (MYO). In this model, students:

  • * Study at the university for 3 semesters, where they are equipped with both theoretical and practical knowledge, continuing their academic development.
  • * Spend 1 semester in a designated company for practical training as part of their professional education course. This practical training takes place in either the fall or spring semester.

The Aim of the Model: The goal of this model is to support students’ theoretical knowledge with practical experience, ensuring they are more prepared for the workforce upon graduation. Through this process, students:

  • * Gain real-world work experience.
  • * Build industry connections and expand their professional network.
  • * Enrich their learning process by combining theory and practice.

The 3+1 Education Model not only contributes to career planning but also serves as a bridge between the university and the business world, making it easier for graduates to find employment. Students have the opportunity to enhance both their academic success and practical skills through this model.

When Can Students Participate in Practical Training?

There are certain requirements for students to be eligible for the practical training at the Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Vocational School of Technical Sciences (MYO):

Practical Training Period: Students can undertake their practical training either in the fall or spring semester, depending on their academic schedule and training plan.

Attendance Requirement: To participate in practical training, students must have completed the courses that require attendance from the 1st semester onwards. Specifically:

  • * For students who will go on practical training in the fall semester, they must have completed the attendance-required courses in the 1st semester, fall term.
  • * For students attending practical training in the spring semester, they must have completed the attendance-required courses in the 1st semester, spring term.

These requirements ensure that students can participate in practical training without disruptions or missing courses in their academic program. Before applying for practical training, it is the student’s responsibility to check the status of these attendance-required courses. The decision on which semester the student will go for practical training and which "PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION IN THE INDUSTRY (IME 200)" course to take will be made by the academic advisor.

How is the Decision Made Regarding Which Company to Go To for Practical Training?

At Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Vocational School of Technical Sciences (MYO), the decision regarding which company the student will go to for practical training is made within the framework of an official protocol and collaboration:

Protocol Requirement: The companies where students will undertake their practical training must have an official protocol with the university. These protocols are made with industry-leading, reliable companies that provide the best possible training environment for students.

Academic Advisor's Role: The decision about which company the student will go to for practical training is made by the academic advisor. This decision takes into account the student’s academic interests, career goals, skills, and the company's needs. The academic advisor is responsible for selecting the company that best suits the student’s professional development.

This process is designed to support the academic and professional growth of students. Together with their academic advisor, students are guided to the company where they will have the most beneficial practical training experience.
