On December 19, 2023, a special hard hat ceremony for first-year Civil Engineering students was held at the Etlik West A Block Conference Hall. This significant event marks the initiation of students into their professional lives, serving as an important tradition.
The ceremony featured speeches by Dilara Tiryaki, the President of the “Yapı Topluluğu”, Dr. Abdullah Dilsiz, the Academic Advisor of the “Yapı Topluluğu”, and Prof. Dr. Lutfullah Turanlı, the Head of the Civil Engineering Department. In the final segment, Prof. Dr. Hasan Okuyucu, the Dean of the Faculty, shared his valuable insights on the importance of the Civil Engineering profession and the roles of students in this journey.
The first-year students were called to the podium as their names were read out, and the Department Teaching Staff presented them with their first professional hard hats. This significant moment was immortalized with a group photo session, capturing the participation of both students and teaching staff.
