AYBU Participates in Erasmus+ with its "Family Institution and Digital Security" Project
Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University has become a partner institution in the "Family Institution and Digital Security" project, which has been awarded support under the European Union Erasmus+ Youth Participation (KA154-YOU) program.
The project will be coordinated by the Ulum Islamic Sciences Education and Research Center (ULUM), the association of our Faculty of Theology, and the Family and Society Studies Application and Research Center (AİLEMER), in partnership with the Social Education and Development Association (Istanbul) and Yomra Science High School (Trabzon).
Family Security in the Digital Age and Youth Participation
Developed in accordance with the declaration of 2025 as the "Year of the Family" by our Presidency, the project aims to analyze the risks faced by families in the digital age and to raise young people's awareness of issues such as digital security, privacy, and the ethical use of media.
The project aims to reach young people through three regional youth workshops and a national summit to be held in Ankara, Istanbul, and Trabzon. The workshops aim to encourage young people to develop policy recommendations on digital security and family relationships, and to encourage families to adopt more conscious behaviors in the digital world.
Project Team
The project is being implemented by a multidisciplinary team with academic, social, and practical experience:
• Prof. Dr. Zekiye Demir
• Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatma Bayraktar Karahan

Awareness Raising for Youth, Solidarity for Society
Throughout the project, events will focus on themes such as digital security, privacy, ethical media use, and the "jurisprudence of the digital world," with the active participation of young people. Awareness will be raised on issues such as human rights, cyberbullying, digital isolation, and combating disinformation in the digital world.
A Policy Document will be prepared at the end of the project and presented to national decision-makers, contributing to family-centered digital security policies.
