Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University (AYBU), in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) Turkey Office and with the valuable support of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey and the United Nations Population Fund, hosted a significant panel discussion. The event, titled "Maternal and Newborn Health in Türkiye," brought together over 400 participants, including medical students, faculty members, and healthcare professionals.
The panel's opening remarks were delivered by Dr. Tasnim Atatrah, WHO Representative to Turkey. Dr. Atatrah emphasized the global and national importance of maternal and newborn health and emphasized the critical role of collaboration in this area.
Throughout the event, experts, along with students, thoroughly discussed vital health issues. Keynote topics from the panel included: The Importance of Maternal and Reproductive Health: Experts assessed the necessary measures to protect and improve maternal and reproductive health, which forms the foundation of a healthy society. Policies to Increase Newborn Health and Survival Rates in Türkiye: Current policies regarding newborn health in Turkey and strategies to increase survival rates were discussed in detail. Future visions were also shared with the participants. Efforts to Improve Women's Health Globally: The panel also provided comprehensive information on priorities, different approach models, and ongoing projects aimed at improving women's health globally.
