Chairman of Board of Uzbekistan Avicenna Public Foundation Nozimkhon Makhmudov paid a visit to

AYBU Traditional and Complementary Medicine Centre (GETAT) that is placed at AYBU Çubuk

Campus and received information on the studies carried out there. Makhmudov who was informed

about master and doctoral studies as well as educational and RE-DE studies carried out at the centre.

Director GETAT Prof. Dr. Salih Mollahaliloğlu gave information about traditional medicine studies of

the centre while Makhmudov gave information about studies carried out at Avicenna Public

Foundation. Director of Turkish Republic Ministry of Health General Directorate of Health Services

Directorate of Traditional and Functional Medicine Dr. Zafer Kalaycı, who took part in the visit, pointed

out their pleasure as to the international cooperation of both countries in Traditional and

Complementary Medicine.

After the visit, Makhmudov paid a visit to Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Aydınlı at his office and they

discussed the collaboration possibilities between both countries. After the negotiations, a

“Memorandum of Understanding” was signed between Avicenna Public Foundation and AYBU. With

this memorandum, examination of the works of Avicenna by the councils whose members are planned

to be selected by both parties and academic staff exchange and organization of joint researches have

been possible. The visit ended with the presentation of gifts by both parties.
