Deputy Minister of Turkish Republic Ministry of Culture and Tourism Alpaslan, who delivered a speech on the opening of the panel that was held at AYBU Esenboğa Campus pointed out the significance of social, financial and cultural support to the region.
Alparslan, who said that AYBU has initiated an important research with its mission, said that “This is a valuable research. On behalf of thr ministry, we attach importance to it. The universities have the responsibility to provide contribution to the people, civilization and life socially and financially to the cities they are located in. The more contribution they provide, the better it is.”
During his speech, AYBU Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Aydınlı stated that not only the name of AYBU but also its being been established on the war field of The War of Ankara is not a coincidence. Dear Rector, who added that for this reason, AYBU has a great responsibility continued his speech as follows:
It is not easy to realize such a heavy liability. As the scientist of AYBU, what we need to do is not to propagate but to have an objective approach as On behalf of AYBU, we need not to propagandize this event but to wish mercy from God to all who lost their lives on this territory as the scientists who evaluate the event objectively as well as acknowledge both Sultan Beyazıt and Amir Timur. With the purpose of providing contribution to our country, we searched for the ways to integrate the region with its social, cultural, technological areas, village life, geography, nature, underground resources. With this study, we wish to bring a breath of fresh air to Ankara historically. We hope to complete our research with the support of Turkish Historical Society, Turkish Republic Ministry of Culture as well our district governor and municipalities.”
Head of Turkish Historical Society Prof. Dr. Birol Çetin, who pointed out the significance of naming the university as Yıldırım Beyazıt who is known for his victory in the Balkans, said that “We supported 149 excavation this year and we have almost 300 staff in the field. Hereby, we will provide contribution to the research on behalf of the institution.”
A session entitled “The War of Ankara in its 620th Anniversary” was held under the leadership of Director of Ankara Researches Application and Research Centre Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Çınar.
Mayor of Municipality of Çubuk Baki Demirtaş stated that surface survey was initiated on Melikşah District on which marquee of Sultan Beyazıd was established.
Demirbaş, who said that the discoveries that are planned to be find out with the study will provide contribution to the tourism of the region, added that “on behalf of the municipality we are giving full support to the research.
The panel came to an end with the examination of the area by the participants.
