A Panel on “The sayings of Yunus for Present” was held online at AYBU

Thanks to 700th death anniversary of Yunus Emre, the year 2021 has been announced as the year of “Yunus Emre and Turkish Language” by UNESCO and Presidency. In the line with this, the program entitled “The Sayings of Yunus Emre” organized by AYBU Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Department of Turkish Language and Literature hosted poet-author Mustafa ÖZÇELİK as a speaker. The program was held online on 1st of April 2021 at 8pm. and moderated by Department Head Mustafa Erdoğan.

At the beginning of the program Prof. Dr. ERDOĞAN gave information on the life and works of Mustafa ÖZÇELİK. He added that ÖZÇELİK is the author of almost 61 works that consists of short stories, novels, fairy tales and reviews. He added that 10 of them are about Yunus Emre. The program continued with question-answer session and ÖZÇELİK gave information on his works on Yunus Emre, his identity and his sayings to the present. He pointed out that Yunus Emre can enhance the prejudice against Turkish people with his thought based on Quran and Islamic thought. ERDOĞAN also said that Yunus Emre is a spiritual doctor of the present who can determine varied diseases such as faithlessness, forlornness, vanity, and self-centredness and find solution for them. He added that even his line “Anxiety remains despite such possessions” equals to a great deal of meninges. The program that attracted great attention came to an end after question-answer session.
