Our faculty member Prof. Murat Demirkol's TÜBİTAK project, numbered 117K326 and titled "Examination of the Philosophy Made in the Tradition of El-İşârât ve't-Tenbîhât Commentary in Terms of Development and Originality" has been concluded successfully.
In this project led by Prof Murat Demirkol, Prof Ömer Türker from Marmara University, Assoc. Prof. Hasan Akkanat from Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University, Assoc. Prof. Muhammet Fatih Kılıç from Ankara Social Sciences University, Assoc. Prof. Necmi Derin from Dicle University, Assist. Porf Hakan Çoşar from Kastamonu University, Assist. Prof. Mustafa Demirci from Istanbul University, who was our faculty member participated as researhers; Assoc. Prof. Necmettin Pehlivan from Ankara University participated as an advisor. Four of our graduate student took part as scholarship students.
In summary, in the project, 15 of the commentaries written on Avicenna's philosophy book al-Isharat va't-Tenbihat were selected, by taking into account their period and characteristics and it is determined that how philosophy developed in the Islamic world in terms of certain problems (existence, nature, necessity, possibility, causality, knowledge, soul and mind) through these commentaries, whether there were original contributions, and if so, what these contributions were.
We congratulate our professor and the other academicians in his team, and we hope that the study will be beneficial for both our country and the world philosophy research and will lay the groundwork for new research.
